The TV show New Amsterdam season 1 tells the story of the major hospital in New York City. The first medical establishment was opened in the US capital more than 70 years ago. Everything has changed dramatically in recent years. The hospital territory was transformed into a real city covering dozens of buildings.
Every year more than half a million people seek medical assistance in this clinic. This medical institution still enjoys an overall excellent reputation despite various difficulties and issues. Now the new head, doctor Max Goodwin, will have to cope with all the problems. The main character will have to overcome an outdated system of management and to keep the clinic financially afloat.
The patients’ treatment is the main priority for Goodwin. The majority of the clinic staff take the new hospital chief’s plans with a pinch of salt trying to oppose and resist innovations. However, Goodwin is not the one to retreat. Moreover, he is fatally ill. The main character has to manage to fulfill his ideas since he is at death’s door and is short of time.
